Advice when snorkelling in Mallorca

At ViuAventura we specialise in water sports, and in the majority of our coasteering tours we spend lots of time snorkelling. This is because snorkelling is a once-in-a-lifetime activity; a unique experience that will truly mesmerise you. Even more so if you’re lucky enough to go snorkelling in Mallorca, where you can bask in the sublime crystal-clear waters and spectacular underwater world.

What do I need to go snorkelling in Mallorca?

All you need to snorkel in Mallorca is a diving mask and snorkel. It is worth pointing out that there are two types of snorkels: one with a shut off valve that allows you to dive using your lung capacity, or an open type, which allows you snorkel along the water surface. Fins will also be of great help as they allow you to propel yourself forward once underwater.

Some basic snorkelling instructions in Mallorca

You can snorkel in Mallorca along any part of the coast. With that being said, make sure to go snorkelling in Mallorca when the water is calm; if this is not the case, it is likely that it is cloudy, which will prevent you from clearly seeing the sea floor.

For safety reasons, it is very imporant to never go snorkelling in Mallorca alone. When one person dives, the other must stay on the surface resting in case they are needed to help underwater.
